Mariantoinia Sodano1,2

#1953, b. circa 1861, d. 9 December 1913
Father*Luigi Sodano2
Mother*Leonilda (?)2,3
Last Edited26 Dec 2015
Name Variation Mariantoinia Sodano was also known as Mary Sordonna.3
Birth*She was born circa 1861 at Italy.2,3
Marriage*She married Pasquale Landriani circa 1885 at Italy.1,2,4,3
Birth of SonHer son Ralph Landriani was born on 25 December 1886 at Italy.5,6,7,8,1,2,9,4
Birth of SonHer son Luigi Landriani was born on 17 December 1888 at Italy.2,4,3
Birth of DaughterHer daughter Giuseppina Landriani was born on 27 March 1891 at Italy.2,4,3
Immigration*I have not yet confirmed immigration dates for this family.

The 1910 U.S. census states:
1890: Ralph (Pasquale and Marie's eldest), who would have been 4 years old
1891: Pasquale (the father)
1893: Marie (the mother)
1898: Lena Sordonna (Marie's mother), and Pasquale and Marie's children Louis and Josephine

On his naturalization petition, Pasquale stated that he immigrated in 1892, leaving Naples, Italy, aboard the ship Neustria on 25 August and arriving in the port of New York on 15 September.
Whether 1891 or 1892, it seems unlikely that Pasquale brought a young child with him but not his wife. It seems more likely that it was as follows:
1891 or 1892: Pasquale
1893: Marie (and possibly one or more children)
1898: Lena (and possibly one or more children.)5,4,3
Birth of DaughterHer daughter Lena Landriani was born on 28 August 1894 at New York.2,4,3
Birth of SonHer son William Landriani was born on 8 November 1896 at New York.2,4,3
Birth of SonHer son Natale Landriani was born on 25 November 1899 at New York.2,4,3
Census1910FedUS*She and Pasquale Landriani appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, at 289-291 N. 8th Street, enumerated 21 April 1910. Their children Luigi, Giuseppina, Lena, William and Natale were listed as living with them, as was Mariantoinia's mother, Leonilda (?)3
Death*She died on 9 December 1913 at Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. Death certificate #22637.2,10

ResidenceAt the time of his marriage, Brittain Tucker Jr. was living at Monmouth County, New Jersey.6
Marriage*He married Hannah White, daughter of Robert White and Hannah (?), probably in Deal, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The original notification of the marriage to the county gave a date of 3 May 1823, although George Tucker's history of his family gives the year as 1819. Two of their children were noted as being born before 1823, however, so there is a possibility that (1) the family changed the year in their own recordings of the date in order to protect reputations, or (2) Brittain may have been married previously. I have found no indication of an earlier marriage of a different couple with the same names. The justice of the peace who performed the marriage was John Williams.8,3,9,5,4,6
