Bridget Magee1,2

#1479, b. circa 1827
Last Edited9 Feb 2016
Birth*Bridget Magee was born circa 1827 in either New York or Ireland.1,2
Marriage*She married Charles W. Chitty before 1843. Charles W. Chitty married at least twice. The first wife of whom I'm aware is Bridget Magee, to whom he was shown married in the 1850 census. If she was the mother of some or all of his first few children, the marriage was probably prior to daughter Charlotte's birth about 1844.1,2
Census1850FedUS*Bridget Magee and Charles W. Chitty appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of New York City, New York County, New York, enumerated 16 July 1850. Their children Charlotte, Mary H., Susan A. and Charles T. were listed as living with them, as was an oysterman named Hugh Kernan, who was probably a boarder.2
Note*Bridget's children may have included William John Chitty, Isabella Chitty, and Eliza Chitty, all of whom are shown on the 1870 census with Charles and Malinda but who may have been born before Bridget and Charles' marriage ended.3
