Birth*Isaac T. Bloomer was born circa 1787 at New York, possibly in Marlborough (Ulster County). His death certificate states he was 61, giving a birth year of approximately 1788 and IGI states 1787.1,7,8,6,3,4
Marriage*He probably married first Nelly (?) before 1 May 1810.9
Note*He and Nelly (?) purchased land from and entered into a mortgage with Isaac's father, Reuben Bloomer on 1 May 1810 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York. The witness was James Bloomer.9,10
Birth of SonHis son Augustus Bloomer was born circa 1812 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.11,12,13
Marriage*He married second Abigail Loveless circa 1814 at New York.1,6,3,14
Birth of SonHis son Edgar I. Bloomer was born circa 1814 at New York.6,15,16,17,18,19,20,21
Birth of DaughterHis daughter Laura Bloomer was born between 1814 and 1820 at Orange County, New York.11,22,23,6,24
Note*Isaac and Abigail entered into a mortgage with Samuel Drake on 10 May 1816 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York, where they lived.9
(Witness) NoteOn 7 April 1817, Isaac T. Bloomer was mentioned in the paperwork for a land purchase by Reuben Bloomer, stating that Isaac owned land near Breakneck Hill, Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.9
NoteIsaac T. Bloomer may have been the person of the same name, of Newburgh, NY, whose property was to be auctioned in a sheriff's sale on 29 April 1817 "on the premises."25
Note*Isaac is probably the person shown on road district #14 in 1818 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.2
Birth of DaughterHis daughter Elizabeth Bloomer was born on 22 May 1822 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.26,27,28,29,30,23,31,32,33,1,34,7
Occupation*He was a blacksmith on 9 February 1849.4
Death*He died of consumption on 9 February 1849 at Marlborough, Ulster County, New York.3,10,4
Burial*He has not been found buried in Riverside Cemetery, Marlborough, Ulster County, NY, or in other cemeteries in Marlborough with records recorded online, although the IGI shows burial in Marlborough.32,3
Notes*Howard L. Bailey had notes which indicated a possible son James and a possible son or grandson Jasper. Edgar Bloomer, who was apparently one of Issac and Abigail's children, did have a son named Jasper. I have not yet identified any other Jasper Bloomer. Robert J. Bloomer, who has done extensive research on this family, reports that an Abagail Pearce applied for and filed probate information in Ulster County in 1852. He believes that Isaac and Abigail had five children and shows them as follows (for additional information on Robert's research see Pedigree Resource File DVD 128 [©2006]):
--Charles Augustus (1812- , married three times, five children, death in Marlborough). [NOTE that Elizabeth Bloomer Bailey and James W. Bailey named one of their children, an ancestor of ours, Charles Augustus Bailey. Also, notice that his birthdate is given as prior to Isaac and Abigail's marriage date, so he may have been a son of Isaac and Nelly.]
--Edgar (1814-1895, married twice, 6 children, including Jasper Drake [who may be the Jasper mentioned in the Bailey family notes], death in Wilton, CT)
--William (1816-1881, possible child to Isaac and Abigail, married once, eight children, death in NYC)
--Elizabeth (m. James W. Bailey) - [This is our ancestral line. See link to Elizabeth in list of children below.]
--Laura (m. Jeremiah Elliott). [Laura Eliot and her son Howard were living with Charles Augustus Bloomer in 1850, and Laura was living with James W. and Elizabeth Bloomer Bailey and Abigail Loveless Bloomer Pierce in 1865]
