Mother*Josephine Carnie Everett1,3,2 b. 6 Oct 1861

Name Variation Letitia Rose Martin was also known as Lettie, Littie, and Littitia. Her middle name was shown in family history as M., but her death record states the middle name was Rose.
Birth*She was born on 15 July 1878 at New York.2,3,4,5
(with Parents) Census1880FedUSShe appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of New York City, New York County, New York, in the household of her parents, Arthur Tucker Martin and Josephine Carnie Everett.2
(with Mother) Census1900FedUSShe appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of New York City, New York County, New York in the household of her mother Josephine Carnie Everett. Letitia is shown with her maiden name but as married with a child, but neither the husband nor the child were enumerated with her unless they were among threee illegible entries in the household.3
Marriage*She married Albert B. Herald.5,6
Census1930FedUS*She and Albert B. Herald appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, at 1817 Lucile, enumerated 14 April 1930, with a home valued at $6000.5
NoteIn 1947, Letitia had her photo taken on "Alice's lawn" in California. It is unclear who Alice was and whether Letitia also lived in California. Letitia referred to herself as Aunt Letty Herold.7
Death*She died on 11 October 1959, probably at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, at age 81.4
Note*Family history notes indicate she married a man named Hardy or Herald. In the 1900 census she is shown as married for 2 years but under her maiden name, with one child, who was living. Neither the husband nor child were enumerated with her at her mother's home, so she may have been visiting. Although Bailey family notes have the husband's name as Will Hardy, Neil Aiello has a photo of Letty signed "Aunt Letty Herald, California, 1947", and the 1930 census gives his name as Albert B. Herald. Her apparent death record in California gives the name as Herald. 1930 census information indicates both had been married before, and his 1920 record says he was divorced at that time.7,1,4,5
